Rhett began his career as an Assistant Builder with Drees Custom Homes in 2001. He was quickly promoted to Project Manager/ Builder and spent 11 years in that role, honing his hands-on expertise in every aspect of a building project, working closely with clients to bring their blueprints to life. He was awarded Builder of the Year and earned the Quality Commitment Award multiple times. 

 

Eventually Rhett moved into a Construction Manager role, where he directed the scheduling and management of projects across Central Texas. Rhett gained the experience to coordinate the timing of architects, designers, contractors, and materials to keep projects moving forward and on budget.   

 

In 2016, Rhett had the opportunity to step out on his own and begin working with clients as an independent builder. Since then, he has completed dozens of projects including ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units), tear-down remodels, ground-up new construction, a condominium community, and a multi-building family complex. One of the homes he built was featured on the 2024 AIA Austin Homes Tour. 

 

Rhett grew up in Northeast Texas, graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2001, and he and his wife Kristen have lived in Austin since then, raising their two children. As an avid hiker and certified Wilderness First Responder, Rhett spends a lot of time on trails across the United States. However his best ideas always come while he and his wife walk their dog around the neighborhood.
